Event Branding

During the preparation for the 2009 Olympics in Beijing, China, the Turkish olympic team was in need of branding.

In addition to a cohesive logo made out of the Turkish national colors and elements from the Turkish flag, the team’s branding required a strong visual language, especially to emphasize the fields in which the athletes performed: Taekwondo, Weight Lifting, Marathon Running and Wrestling.

The designs feature the iconic Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest, which was built specifically for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and will be used again in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Even though the team received no medals, representation of the country is extremely important and plays a crucial role in the overall branding of the country itself.
