Branding for Free Trade Zone

Lekki Free Zone Development Company in Lagos, Nigeria, is the sole and legally competent entity to develop, operate and manage the Lekki Free Zone project. In May 2006, the Chinese consortium China-Africa Lekki Investment Ltd entered into the Joint Venture with the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian partner “Lekki Worldwide Investment Ltd.” to establish the Free Zone.

The goal of the Joint Venture was to engage directly in the economic development of Nigeria by developing an offshore economic growth zone, attract foreign investments, promote export, create job opportunities, minimize capital flight and establish a one-stop global business haven. I Mean It was hired to create the visual identity of the Lekki Free Zone.

Inspired by the idea that “In Africa, for growth, all roads lead to Lekki Free Zone”, we created an iconic logo, which portrayed a Carrefour. We amalgamated the use of modern typography with a mix of a blue and green color selection to infuse the brand an aura of credibility and forward-thinking. The brand identity elements that the new visual language was applied to include, but not limited to: letterhead, business card, signage, brochure, booklet and billboards.
