Celebrating 100 Years of History Through Design

The Türkiye İş Bankası Museum has reopened its doors after an extensive renovation, unveiling its new permanent exhibition, “İş’in 100 Yılı” (100 Years of İş), on August 24. This milestone exhibition, which coincides with the bank’s centennial anniversary, chronicles the intertwined history of İş Bankası and the economic development of Turkey. Featuring never-before-seen photographs, such as rare images from the İzmir Economic Congress, the exhibition offers visitors a unique glimpse into a transformative century.

A Century of Legacy, A Timeless Design

At I Mean It Creative, we were honored to craft the visual identity for this historic campaign. Our approach combined the iconic “100” motif with the graphic and typographic sensibilities of the early Turkish Republic era, evoking the spirit of progress and innovation that defines İş Bankası. This design language pays homage to the bank’s role as a pillar of economic independence and modernization in Turkey.

A Modern Museum for a New Era

Housed in a historic building in Istanbul’s Eminönü district, originally constructed in 1892 as an Ottoman post office, the museum has undergone a transformation to provide a more modern and engaging experience. Spread across two floors, the exhibition explores İş Bankası’s foundation, its contributions to industrial growth, its technological advancements, and its impact on contemporary banking.

Visitors can journey through time, from the bank’s early years supporting savings and economic development to its modern-day initiatives in sustainability and gender equality. With artifacts like typewriters, calculators, and early computers, the museum also offers an immersive look at technological evolution in banking and daily life.

A Story Told Through Design

Our campaign visuals aimed to reflect the depth of this narrative. The interplay of bold typography, inspired by the early 20th century, and archival imagery captures the museum’s dedication to preserving history while embracing innovation. The design invites visitors to explore the stories that have shaped the nation’s financial and cultural landscape.

Honoring History, Inspiring the Future

As a free public institution, the Türkiye İş Bankası Museum has welcomed over 2.6 million visitors since its opening in 2007. With its newly enhanced exhibition and striking visual campaign, it is set to captivate audiences once again, showcasing the enduring legacy of İş Bankası while inspiring future generations.
